A 4-year-old girl was taken from a Patchogue laundromat and later found in a nearby library, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, March 28.
Carlos Corte, 38, of Patchogue, was arrested after the incident at a laundromat on East Main Street around 12:08 p.m., according to police.
The child’s mother had been inside the laundromat with her two children when Corte, who did not know the family, led the girl out a rear exit, police said.

A break-in at a Long Island animal hospital led to a juvenile’s arrest, Nassau County police announced on Thursday, March 19.
A juvenile was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 18, in connection with the incident at Westbury Animal Hospital, 319 Union Avenue, in Westbury, according to detectives.
A property manager called 911 after arriving at the business and finding the rear door open with broken wood scattered inside at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, police said. Surveillance video showed two males forcibly entering the building, while a third suspect was also involved.

Washington Twp Cops Bust DoorDash Driver, Then Make Delivery
Police in Washington Township, Gloucester County, do more than just arrest bad guys.
At noon on Sunday, March 1, officers stopped a vehicle in front Washington Township High School and discovered the driver was a wanted person with warrants, Washington Township police said. While being placed under arrest, the driver told offices he was making a DoorDash delivery right up the block, police said.
